Training Bundles

Training Bundles and Corporate Academies combine related TheSkillGrid programs into structured capability pathways for organizations that need more than a standalone course.

Why Use a Multi-Course Pathway?

A single course is often enough for a focused capability gap. A pathway is more useful when a participant population needs several connected capabilities, when the organization is developing people over time, or when common language across managers and functions matters. Instead of purchasing unrelated training events, the sponsor can define a capability journey with deliberate sequencing and workplace application between programs.

The pathways below are starting architectures. They can be adapted by role level, industry, cohort profile and business priority. Programs remain live and instructor-led, and duration is flexible rather than fixed to a standard number of training days.

How We Design a Corporate Academy

1. Define the population

Clarify role level, current responsibility and the next level of work participants need to handle.

2. Diagnose the gap

Identify the decisions, conversations, work products or behaviors that need to improve.

3. Build the pathway

Choose a core sequence and use electives where participant responsibilities differ.

4. Apply between programs

Participants use relevant tools on live work and bring that experience into the next stage.

Choose a Pathway by Capability Need

The most useful starting point is the population you are developing and the work they need to perform more effectively. A first-time manager cohort needs a different architecture from a senior transformation team, and a procurement academy should not be designed like a broad leadership program. The pathways above provide suggested starting structures, but the final combination should follow the capability need.

Management population

Use management and leadership pathways when the organization needs a shared baseline across supervisors, managers or high-potentials.

Functional capability

Use HR, procurement, project, commercial, risk or digital academies where depth in one professional domain matters.

Talent pipeline

Use progression pathways for succession pools, women-in-leadership cohorts, returnships and internal-mobility populations.

Transformation need

Use strategy, project, AI and change combinations when participants must deliver complex organization-wide initiatives.

Academy, Bundle or Single Course?

Choose a single course when the capability gap is specific, the participant already has the surrounding skills, and the organization does not need a longer development journey. A focused program can be more efficient than an academy when the problem is narrow.

Choose a bundle when two or three capabilities clearly belong together and participants will benefit from a defined progression. Existing priced bundles use this approach.

Choose a corporate academy when the organization is developing a population over time, needs common capability standards, wants application between modules, or requires a core plus elective model for different roles.

What Happens Between Programs

Spacing can be used as part of the learning design. Participants can apply one or two relevant tools on live work, discuss the result with a manager, and bring that experience into the next module. This creates a stronger connection between subjects and prevents the academy from becoming a series of unrelated classroom events.

Depending on the pathway, workplace application may include project plans, stakeholder maps, negotiation preparation, business cases, process maps, account plans, workforce analyses, risk reviews or other practical work products. The exact output should match the role and business context.

How Sponsors Review Progress

TheSkillGrid does not treat attendance as automatic proof of business impact. Sponsors can instead define a small number of observable application indicators before the pathway begins. Useful evidence includes whether participants use the relevant tools on real work, whether decision and escalation quality improves, whether managers observe the target behavior, and whether work products become part of normal operating processes.

For succession or high-potential pathways, readiness for more complex work can also be reviewed, but the organization should distinguish development evidence from a guaranteed promotion or performance outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to use one of the listed combinations?

No. They are starting architectures. A different pathway can be built from relevant TheSkillGrid courses.

Are academy durations fixed?

No. Course depth, sequence and spacing are designed around the cohort and organizational objective.

Can different participants take different electives?

Yes. A core-plus-elective model is often useful when a cohort shares some capabilities but roles require different depth.

Can the academy use our internal frameworks?

Yes. Private delivery can align examples, terminology and application work to internal frameworks while preserving the underlying professional content.

Can delivery combine classroom and live online formats?

Yes. The delivery mix can be designed around participant location, timing and the type of practice required.

Bundle Pricing and Private Delivery

Where a published bundle price is shown, it is separate from standard public-course group-discount rules and is not automatically combined with them. Most corporate academies are quoted according to the selected programs, cohort size, delivery format, location and level of customization. VAT or other applicable taxes are excluded unless explicitly stated.

A private pathway can be delivered in-house, live online, in the classroom, or through a combination that fits the organization. Programs can be spaced across a development cycle rather than delivered as one continuous block.

Build a Different Combination

The listed pathways are not the only available combinations. An organization can start with a capability problem and build a different sequence from the wider course catalogue. The most useful bundle is the one that reflects the participant population and the work they need to perform, not the one with the largest number of courses.
