A useful customization brief explains what the participant group needs to do differently or more effectively. That is more valuable than simply asking for a longer version of a standard course.
Examples of useful context include the types of decisions participants make, the stakeholders they work with, the management responsibilities they are taking on, the projects they need to deliver, or the business situations that currently create difficulty.
How the Customization Process Works
1. Choose the right course or pathway
Start with the closest existing framework in the course catalogue. If the requirement spans several subjects, consider a training bundle or academy.
2. Profile the cohort
Share the participant roles, experience level, approximate group size and any meaningful differences within the audience.
3. Define the application context
Identify the situations, responsibilities or work products that should shape examples and exercises.
4. Agree the delivery model
Confirm the preferred location or live-online format, schedule, session structure and any practical requirements that affect delivery.
5. Calibrate the learning experience
The facilitator can then emphasize the parts of the framework that matter most to the cohort and use relevant examples, discussion and practice while preserving the core learning objectives.
Participant Minimum
A customized standard course normally starts from five participants. For a smaller requirement, a public course or confirmed live-online cohort may be more practical. For broader development across several capabilities, a multi-course pathway may be more appropriate.
