How It Works

TheSkillGrid does not treat professional training as a generic product that should be delivered exactly the same way to every participant. The process starts with the capability need and then uses a defined course framework, participant context, and live delivery to make the program more useful in practice.

Step 1: Define the Need

For an individual participant, this can be as simple as identifying the course, experience level, and capability you want to build. For an organization, the starting point is broader: what needs to improve, who will attend, what situations are difficult today, and what participants should be able to do more effectively after the program.

Useful information can include participant roles, experience level, industry, approximate group size, preferred delivery format, location, timing, and any specific organizational priorities.

Step 2: Choose the Right Program

The next step is to match the need to an existing course framework or, for a broader requirement, a multi-course pathway. TheSkillGrid’s course pages are the primary source for curriculum, audience, learning outcomes, pricing context, delivery options, and related programs.

If an organization needs several capability areas developed together, a training bundle may be more appropriate than a single course. If the requirement does not map neatly to an existing framework, a customized private program can be discussed.

Step 3: Profile the Participants

Before delivery, participant profiling can capture role, industry, experience, current challenges, and objectives. For a private organizational cohort, the program sponsor can also provide the business context and any specific situations participants need to handle more effectively.

The purpose of profiling is not to create a new course from scratch for every person. It is to help the facilitator calibrate examples, discussion, exercises, and application so the program remains relevant to the cohort while preserving the core capability structure.

Step 4: Confirm Delivery

Public Classroom

Public classroom participation is available when a real future cohort has been confirmed. The course or calendar entry should show the applicable date, location, format, and session-specific price. If no cohort is currently listed, participants can register interest in the next one.

Live Online

Live-online programs are instructor-led in real time. They are intended for participants who want the interaction of a live program without attending a physical venue.

In-House and Customized

Private organizational delivery can be arranged for a cohort and adapted around the organization’s context, participant roles, schedule, and preferred delivery format. A standard customized course normally starts from five participants. Multi-course organizational bundles can be structured separately.

Step 5: Deliver the Program

TheSkillGrid programs are intended to be interactive rather than lecture-only. Depending on the subject, participants may work through scenarios, role-play, planning exercises, case analysis, decision frameworks, or action plans.

Course duration is not universally fixed. Many public courses use a standard five-day format, while private programs can be delivered in a different intensive, extended, or modular structure when that better fits the objectives and operational schedule.

Step 6: Apply the Learning

Participants should leave with practical frameworks, tools, and actions they can use in their work. Where appropriate for a private program, application planning, sponsor debriefing, or follow-up can be included in the agreed program design.

How Pricing Works

Where a course page lists a public fee, it represents the standard public-course price for the stated market and format. Other venues or confirmed sessions can have different pricing. Public fees exclude VAT or other applicable taxes unless expressly stated otherwise.

Private, in-house, customized, and bundle programs are quoted separately because participant count, location, timing, language, customization, venue, travel, and other delivery requirements can change the final investment.

How Public Group Discounts Work

For standard public courses, a booking of three delegates from the same organization receives a 15% discount. A booking of six delegates is charged at the price of five standard delegate places. These rules apply to standard public courses and are not automatically stacked onto private, in-house, customized, or bundle pricing.

Certificates

Participants who complete an eligible program receive a TheSkillGrid Certificate of Completion for that course. It can be used as part of a professional-development record or added to a LinkedIn profile. It should not be interpreted as an external professional accreditation unless a specific program explicitly states otherwise.

Start the Process

If you know the course you need, begin with the relevant course page. If you are planning development for a team or organization, describe the capability need, participant group, preferred delivery format, location, and timing. Contact TheSkillGrid to discuss the appropriate route.
